The Nashville Farmers' Market will be hosting local musicians at the market every weekend from April 22nd thru October 28th from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. This program is in conjunction with the Music Performance Fund who will issue payment. August 16th (Wednesday) - Two High String Band at Smith's Olde Bar - 9:45 pm "Austin TX's Two High String Band returns to Atlanta for one night at Smith's Olde Bar. THSB includes Geoff Union and Brian Smith on guitars and Billy Bright on Mandolin. Billy played for years with Peter Rowan's Texas Trio and with the Rowan and Rice Band. They're out on the road supporting their new CD, Moonshine Boogie (2006 Blue Corn Music), and recently performed out west at the High Sierra Music Festival in California. August 19th - 6th Annual Decatur Blues, Bluegrass, and Barbecue Festival - As always, the festival will have the same great atmosphere with music, food, and lots of fun for people of all ages. Please make a note that the location for the festival has changed, and this year will be held in Oakhurst at Harmony Park. This year?s musical lineup will include Peachtree Station, the Dappled Grays, John Emil, Andy Makely Band, and Hair of the Dog. Maddy?s Barbeque, recently rated Atlanta?s best ribs by Meredith Ford of the AJC, will be providing the barbeque. For those of you who prefer something other than BBQ, the Oakhurst Grill will be selling grilled bratwursts, while Chick-Fil-A will serve their world famous chicken! And, for those of you who want a cold beer, this year?s selection includes Bass Ale, Hoegaarden Wheat Beer, and Beck?s Ultra Light(because, after all, what?s a summer party without cold beer!). There will also be a children?s area with shaved ice, a train, and much, much more. The festival will be held from 3:30-9:30 pm. Tickets are $5 per person, and kids 10 and under are free.
