April 16th - STRINGS 'N THINGS COFFEE HOUSE: The coffee house features live traditional music and meets every 3rd Saturday of the month in the Fellowship Hall of the Dahlonega United Methodist Church, 107 Park St., South, 2 blocks from the square. April 15th - 17th - 9th Annual Bear on the Square Mountain Festival featuring bluegrass and old-time music will be held April 15-17, 2005 in historic downtown Dahlonega. April 30, 2005 - Madison Bluegrass Jamboree Spend the day in historic Madison, Georgia picking under the shade trees, store front awnings, in the parking lots?or on stage competing for thousands of dollars in prize money. Hollonville Opry House is located approximately 12 miles west of Griffin on Hwy 362 in Hollonville (Pike Co) GA. From Atlanta: Go I-75 south to 19/41 toward Atlanta Race Track. Alabama Opry House - Alabama Opry House is a new winter Bluegrass venue. It is located in Tarrant, Al., just off I-59 on Tallapoosa St.,which is Hwy 79 N. The Alabama Opry House opens every Fri., Sat., & Sun. at noon for all you Jammers and features 4 jamming rooms as well as open mike and other jam areas.The weekend stage shows begin at 6 p.m. each day. Every other Tuesday evening there's a semi-structured bluegrass jamming in East Roswell. At these sessions, we don't mind slowing things down (just a little) to help accommodate those relatively new to bluegrass music -or for those attempting to learn a new bluegrass instrument.
