    To the List,

Looks like fall is approaching and there's lots of bluegrass activity starting to happen. I would like to encourage folks to get out and support some of these festivals - it's great fun and you meet some wonderful people - (and if you are a picker - you get to pick with some great musicians). I'd like to mention a new festival in Milledgeville - only an hour or some from Atlanta - Scenic Mountain Bluegrass Festival - Sept 22nd - 25th. This should be a good one, and Peachtree Station will be there leading jam sessions in the campground (as well as performing on stage). See info below and check the web site at www.scenicmountainrv.com and http://www.scenicmountainrv.com/bluegrass.htm

Hope to see you all there!!!

The Chris Sharp Band has canceled this Thursday at the RedLight Cafe - playing in their place will be Hard Labor with special guest opening by Johnny Roquemore

Thanks, Scott

Local mandolinist Brad Laird has just published a new book/CD called "Mandolin Master Class" which is a study of mandolin practice techniques, scales, improvisation ideas and music theory designed for intermediate and advanced mandolin students who already read tab and chord charts and are interested in improvising and taking their playing to a higher level. Includes an audio CD to help the student equalize their ability to play in all keys, begin ear training, and more. The theory material teaches scale construction and usage, chord building, the "number system", the "circle of 5ths", and lots more.
