This Friday One of the nation?s most beloved bluegrass bands is coming to The Red Light Cafe with Grammy-nominated vocalist, Claire Lynch and her award-winning band members, Jim Hurst, Missy Raines and David Harvey ......this is a show you'll want to see. Claire has two Grammy-nominated albums to her credit, and has been named the IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year, She is accompanied by world class musicians including Missy Raines on bass, Jim Hurst on guitar, and Dave Harvey on mandolin. Missy Raines has achieved acclaim in the world of bluegrass, including six IBMA Bass Player of the Year awards. Jim Hurst is one of the finest guitar players you'll ever hear. He has received two IBMA Guitar Player of the Year Awards and is a master of a number of styles and a pure pleasure to watch. This is more of an old-time music jam, rather than a bluegrass jam -- fiddle tunes, claw hammer banjos, along with the occasional flatpicking and Bluegrass songs. This is an open jam and is much fun.

Alabama Opry House - Alabama Opry House is a new winter Bluegrass venue. It is located in Tarrant, Al., just off I-59 on Tallapoosa St.,which is Hwy 79 N. Jam Groups:

Every other Tuesday evening there's a semi-structured bluegrass jamming in East Roswell. At these sessions, we don't mind slowing things down (just a little) to help accommodate those relatively new to bluegrass music -or for those attempting to learn a new bluegrass instrument. The intent is to get everyone up to artist speed as accurately and as quickly as possible. Always a fun and supportive atmosphere. Windstream Channel 4 in the Hiawassee/Blairsville area plays bluegrass music and classic country for the audio portion of their local community information channel. Bluegrass Tracks is the name of the bluegrass show and it airs four times a day, featuring a large mix of local and regional bluegrass music.
